WHAT ARE PAVERS?

WHAT ARE THE MOST COMMON SHAPES OF PAVERS FOR ME TO CONSIDER?

Manufacturers such as EP Henry, Techo Bloc, Belgard, and CST offer several paver shapes in which you can use to form your own patterns including, circle kits, octagon kits, and diamond kits.
WHAT ARE SOME TYPICAL DIMENSIONS FOR PAVERS?
For square and rectangular pavers we offer, typical sizes include 8” x 8”, 12”x 12”, and 24” x 24”. These are nominal thickness due to the random surface textures of each paver. Contact us about the range of thickness, which applies to the pavers that you are most interested in.

WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF PAVERS?
The advantages of pavers over concrete and asphalt go beyond colors, looks, and shapes. They have minimum compression strength of 8000 psi and are the ideal product for freeze/thaw environments. WILL THE PAVERS MILDEW?

HOW DO I CONTROL WEEDS AND GRASS FROM COMING UP IN MY PAVER PATIO OR WALKWAY?
With the proper use of polymeric sand this issue has pretty much faded away with pavers. Polymeric sand started being widely used about 10-12 years ago in our area, and we have seen a huge reduction in organic growth in our patios and walkways.
CAN I REPLACE A PAVER IF BROKEN OR STAINED?
Yes, you can be rest assured of the replacement of your pavers by keeping extras from when the job was completed. When replacing a paver, scrape out the sand in the joints that surround the paver that needs to be removed. Use two screwdrivers (or a paver puller) to wiggle the paver out. Others can be removed by hand. Insert the new paver, replace the joint sand, and compact the paver into place with a rubber mallet.
DO PAVERS NEED TO BE SEALED?
It is by no means required that you seal your pavers, however we do recommend it. Think of sealing your pavers like protecting an investment.
